Womens Rights? Men?

I have been looking at this issue for the past year, in many forms. Talking to people, listening to CBC (The Canadian Broadcasting Corpation), watching TV and Movies, and just walking or biking around wherever I am.

Why do we have Womens Rights that mean nothing nowadays, seems that the number of women who have taken the call up to fight for their rights in Canada is at an all-time low. What are they fighting for now? Equal Pay, Equal participation, Equal Rights? They are fighting for nothing that generations before us were fighting, and this seems like they don't care about anything.

Everyday I see that we talk about Single Mothers or Women who are dying because of prostitution. Don't take this in the wrong way, I am just saying that all the stories in the News and what people are gripping towards are rights for Women.

Do we ever talk about Men? Not all Men are running big corporations or sitting in the House of Commons at all. Globally I see that Women need rights and that is good that they are getting them. Just nowhere I see, is there a talk about Men's Rights in society. We have been pushed over because we use to run the world. I huge problem in our society is that if a Men gets beaten up by a Women or even other Men, they would report this much less.

Rights are Rights, and Women need more then Men, this is true, and I feel we need to move forward with this. Just I don't feel that Women or Men get everything they need.

Women: Single Mothers, Poverty, Racism, Beating.
Men: Single Fathers, Racism, Working Two Jobs.

My idea is just to create a new Bill of Rights in Canada or at the UN (United Nations) to address Human Rights in this Country and World.

In the Bill of Rights would be: Equal Pay, Equal Participation, and a sense that Men are equal to Women, and Women are equal to Men. Nowadys, Men are not the only ones controlling the world now, but Women are as well.

STAND UP for Men, Women and Children alike.

Just to let everyone know this isn't about making Men more superior looking at all. I am looking for an equal support for all groups around the world

hey shawn,

i think one of the big problems is that the equality problem is not yet resolved. women still get paid, on average, less than men in the same work position. you can read more about this, from both sides, at this blog post.

then there are horrible practices being perpetuated against women in the developing world. some truly awful things. i think there's a lot of work to be done on all fronts.

hiya!

Well in my opinion your right, but there are just these people that think a right is a right and it need to be abused to 100%, I would've done something instead of whining.

I agree with you that everyone deserves equal rights, but at the present time there are still more injustices in women's rights than men's and thats why women's rights are fought harder for.
