US Presidential Race 2008.

As someone who is watching three elections happening this year, I am starting to feel like what is this world coming to an end? There is nothing good coming from any of the elections that are going to be played out over this year.

If there is a woman in the White House that would be amazing for the US but has she really made people who don't normally vote vote, no way. When I watch Hilary Clinton anywhere, she isn't talking to people who are non-voters but people who always vote. Yes she is bring out Women around the country and giving them a voice. Normally they would vote what their husband does, but really they have a voice now, but still what about youth, or low income people???

Well this in turn is where Barack Obama is hitting, he is running to hear from everyone. He has worked years and years in helping people in Illinois and this is totally paying off. He hasn't been in politics for years and years, which makes him a fresh face. Yesterday I watched a video about a young black man who is helping Obama get elected and that young man had done drugs, and been to jail. He now is working in the Student Government at his local College, and getting many many black people out to vote for Obama.

On the other side of the coin, is the Republicans who are not really inspiring anyone to come out and vote. I look at Bush Sr., Bush Jr., and now Mccain, there is no chance for any of them to win over the hearts of Americans. What the Republicans needs is a person who can be very left, very right, but right in the middle. Even when Mccain is, people get angry and when to throw everything at them. What true Republicans want is someone who is on the Right side of the politics, and that is going to happen in this election. The only person who I want to see win for Republicans is Ron Paul but for him to win, he has to win lots of the states left.

VS VS

What I feel is happening with the US Presidential Race is that every single person running is preaching to large crowds, but are they really hitting the people who are out there working everyday and don't have the time or money to see them in person? No. I think that if you really want to see a difference in the election, you need to move forward and start going on the buses and working hard to get the vote out. Everyday people are working all day, and then they have an hour off, and then jump on a bus ride an hour, work all night, and then come home for an hour. Do they get to see their kids? No. These are the people who all of the Presidential Candidates should be targeting.

Here in Canada, there has been a surge of people watching the US Presidential Race, and everyone is saying how come we can't have an Obama Candidate? One thing, Peter Mansbridge said "Who would ever know what an Obama Candidate look like?" I just feel that here in Canada watching everything happening in the US is really bad news for us. We need to focus on finding someone in our country that can bring the people together in our country. I still believe that CBC has the best coverage of all the places I have looked in trying to balance out everything, and giving the whole picture of events. One big thing I see that in Canada they talk about more then in the US is we say Obama = Kennedy, and Republicans = Reagan. The CBC had the son of Reagan on, and didn't want to say he wants a Democrats to win but was very close in saying that.

Just the one big thing we miss in this Presidential Race from all Media is the stories of people who are working 20 - 22 hours a day to meet payments. We need to know what they think of the US Presidential Race, and what is there thoughts can go right or wrong with everything. The Media is playing the same card as the Candidates are and talking to Middle Class people only.

We need a Revolution in the Media and the US Presidental Race. Obama is a start but we need someone to show us they are talking to low income families, homeless people, black, white, and everyone else.
